Manama, November 5 (BNA) Public Security Chief Lieutenant-General Tariq Al-Hassan received a delegation from the US Congress.
The Leader stressed the importance of such visits and meetings in strengthening relations between the two countries.
The visits are also an opportunity to highlight the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote peaceful coexistence.
Al-Hassan stressed the directives and support of the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to enhance security capabilities and performance through training, modern technologies, and openness to the experiences of developed countries.
The delegation was briefed on the expansion of the application of the Penal Code, alternative measures and the start of the implementation of the open prisons programme.
The delegation also toured an exhibition displaying weapons and explosives used by terrorist groups.
