Al Azhar Grand Imam receives Education Minister, stresses readiness to develop educational cooperation with Bahrain

Manama, November 5 (BNA) The Sheikh of Al-Azhar received the Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, His Eminence, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, at his residence today, the Minister of Education, Dr. Majid Al-Nuaimi, in the presence of the Minister of Education. The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher Al Mudhaki, and academics from the Abdullah Bin Khalid College of Islamic Studies and the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the University of Bahrain.

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and the head of the Muslim Council of Elders praised the kingdom’s civilization, which is based on pluralism and the assimilation of all cultures. He stressed the keenness of Al-Azhar University to enhance cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the educational and cultural field, stressing the importance of education in confronting extremist ideology and promoting the values ​​of citizenship, tolerance and coexistence.

The Minister of Education praised the speech of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders at the closing session of the Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence, which provided a deep vision of the importance of interfaith dialogue. and coexistence for human development.

The minister affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness, under the leadership of His Majesty, to promote pluralism, religious freedom and human rights. He pointed out that the Ministry of Education developed educational curricula in accordance with those values. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain took the initiative in adopting a pioneering idea through the first human rights school experiment, which is the school’s project to promote citizenship and human rights, an experiment that was praised by UNESCO.

The Minister of Education presented a gift to Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, which is a model for Al-Hidaya Al-Khalifia School, which represents the first official public school in Bahrain and the actual launch of modern education in the Kingdom.
