Chelsea reach final agreement for sale of club to Boehly-led consortium

London, May 28 / BNA / Chelsea FC said today, Saturday, that a definitive agreement has been reached to sell the English Premier League football club to a consortium led by Todd Boley, part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and with the support of Clearlake Capital.

Reuters reported that the acquisition is expected to be completed on Monday.

The consortium, which won the takeover bid for the London side earlier this month, won approval from the Premier League and the British government this week to go ahead with the sale.

“Chelsea Football Club can confirm that a final and final agreement was entered into last night for the sale of the club to the Todd Boehle/Clerlake Capital consortium,” the club said in a statement.

“The deal is expected to be completed on Monday. The club will make further updates at that time.”
