CBB organises workshop to enhance, develop cybersecurity practices in banking sector

Manama, February 9 (BNA): The Central Bank of Bahrain organized a training workshop on cyber security for the banking sector, in the presence of CEOs, C-level executives, cyber security and technical staff.

This event comes within the framework of the Central Bank of Bahrain’s strategy to enhance cybersecurity practices and systems in the financial services sector, and its continuous efforts to maintain financial stability and ensure the provision of a safe environment for banking transactions.

The training workshop included an exercise on electronic resilience for the banking sector, with the participation of more than 80 participants from the Central Bank of Bahrain, participating local banks and The Benefit Company.

On this occasion, Mr. Yousef Al-Fadhel, Executive Director of Corporate Services at the Central Bank of Bahrain, said: “The risks of emerging technologies are witnessing rapid developments and are getting more complex, along with the rapid growth of the financial services sector and digital transformation. This exercise aims to enhance and develop cooperation between all Concerned parties and relying on the adoption of international best practices to address electronic risks.

The CBB also aims to develop the skills and competencies of the national workforce in the field of cyber security through these workshops.
