BTEA highlights Bahrain’s tourism opportunities at ATM 2022 Exhibition

Manama, May 12 (BNA) The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) said that it had a large and successful presence at the Arabian Travel Market 2022 in Dubai, through the Bahrain National Pavilion, which is one of the largest of the 158 pavilions in which it participated. The Bahraini pavilion included 21 exhibitors led by Gulf Air, and the pavilion included tourism facilities, hotels, resorts, tourism companies and tour operators.

Fatima Al-Serafy, Executive Vice President of BTEA, attributed the success of Bahrain’s participation to the coordinated efforts of the participants to draw the world’s attention to the Bahraini tourism sector and highlight its privileges by relying on civilization, diversity, heritage and modernity.

She said, “The Arabian Travel Market 2022 provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships with tourism sector partners in the region and around the world, as well as forge new partnerships.”

The aim was to attract more tourists and visitors to Bahrain, support plans to revive the tourism sector after the challenges of the past two years, and discover new opportunities for success and growth.

The Bahraini delegation met with the CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority Fahd Hamid Al-Din, the CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing Issam Kazim, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Heritage in the Sultanate of Oman Azzan bin Qassim bin Muhammad Al Busaidi.

During the meetings, converging visions and joint action plans for the advancement of tourism in the region were discussed.

Meetings were also held with several tourism companies that signed cooperation agreements with BTEA. Strategies for activating promotional campaigns in several regions were also discussed this summer, with plans to launch campaigns in Spain, Italy, India, Israel and Russia in June.

The Bahraini tourism facilities in the pavilion also held successful working sessions with their regional and international counterparts, and reviewed cooperation in promoting business and attracting more visitors to Bahrain.

During a panel discussion on ‘Building a Sustainable Business Line’, Al Serafi highlighted the Bahrain Sustainable Tourism Authority’s initiatives in sustainable tourism.

BTEA’s Director of Marketing and Promotion, Maryam Turani, highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in gender equality in tourism in a panel discussion titled “Enhancing Women’s Presence in the Tourism Sector”.

The Bahraini pavilion attracted more than 20,000 visitors during the four days of the exhibition. Opportunities for cooperation and partnership between Bahraini entities and about 1,500 companies were also reviewed.
