January 2023 (Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain) – BENEFIT, the Kingdom’s innovative and leading financial technology and electronic financial transaction services company, recently announced several security improvements to the BenefitPay application with the aim of enhancing the user experience when switching mobile phones.
Recent improvements include requiring users to deactivate the BenefitPay account used on their old phones before activating it on their new devices, as this step contributes to enhancing user safety and security, while reducing the risk of electronic fraud.
Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Ahmed Al Mahri, Head of Business Development and Services Department at Benefit, said: “As part of its efforts to improve and protect user experiences, Benefit is keen to make periodic improvements to its services and evaluate best practices. In this regard, we have recently amended the mechanism for activating the BenefitPay application In a new phone, where the new procedure requires that the user first cancel the activated account on the old phone before proceeding to install the application on the new phone, by selecting Deactivate the feature in the settings menu on the old device.
He added, “In the event that the old phone is not available for any reason or due to the configuration of the old device, the customer must visit the Benefit Customer Service Center at the company’s headquarters in the Seef district, where the cancellation process will be completed by a qualified employee after verifying the customer’s identity. Take this action to ensure security and comply with consumer identity verification regulations in order to protect them from fraudsters.”
It is important to note that BENEFIT employees will not contact consumers and ask for passwords, one-time password or customer data, and if customers are exposed to such a situation, this is a fraud attempt.
