Barcelona: Spotify linked to Camp Nou for at least 12 years

Madrid, April 3 (BNA): Barcelona’s general assembly ratified the agreement with Spotify on Sunday, calling it the biggest sponsorship deal in its history, and saying the brand will be linked to the Camp Nou for at least 12 seasons.

The agreement, initially announced in March, was approved by 89% of the vote in the General Assembly on Sunday, according to the Associated Press.

“Due to the confidentiality clause, which is applied in all global Spotify agreements, we cannot give exact numbers but what we can say is that it is the best financially FC Barcelona shirt and field agreement,” said President Joan Laporta.

Spanish media said the partnership with the audio broadcasting company would give the club more than 400 million euros ($440 million) during its multi-year contract.

The club said that Spotify will be linked to the Camp Nou during the four seasons in which it will undergo renovations in addition to the following eight seasons. The name of the stadium will be changed to Spotify Camp Nou.

Spotify will also appear on the front of the men’s and women’s team jerseys for four seasons starting in 2022-23, and will sponsor coaching jerseys for three seasons, also starting in 2022-23.

The club said its members will get discounts and other benefits with Spotify, and that the streaming company will launch its app in Catalan.
