Bahrain’s Permanent Representative presents credentials to UNESCO Director General

Paris, Dec. 22 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of France, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar Abdullah, today presented his credentials as permanent representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.

Azoulay praised Bahrain’s role in the region in the field of culture, heritage and science, and its efforts in supporting UNESCO projects and programmes.

She affirmed UNESCO’s readiness to support the priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the areas of the organization’s work.

Dr. Abdullah highlighted the strong relations and constructive cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and UNESCO, which resulted in important cultural projects, including the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency during 2018 of the World Heritage Committee and hosting the forty-second meeting of the committee.
