Bahraini-Canadian economic, trade cooperation discussed

Ottawa, September 16 (BNA) The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, during his official visit to Canada, met the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Canadian Arab Business Council (CABC), Dr. Mohamed Al-Sawaf, and Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at The Canadian Business Corporation, Ms. Kim Douglas.

The two meetings included discussions on enhancing economic, commercial and financial cooperation and investment partnership between Bahrain and Canada.

The Undersecretary briefed the Canadian side on the promising Bahraini investment opportunities within the economic recovery plan, its strategic location, skilled human resources, logistics services, legislation and economic, financial and monetary policies.

He explained that this led to Bahrain ranking first in the Arab world and regionally, according to the Index of Economic Freedom issued by the Fraser Institute.

The Canadian side praised the attractive Bahraini investment environment that encourages the establishment of joint projects in various sectors, stressing their aspiration to develop economic and social relations between the two countries.
