Bahrain tops the ladder in religious harmony, tolerance: Rabbi Moshe

Manama, May 4 (BNA): Rabbi Moshe Levin said that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to religious harmony and tolerance has made the country a global benchmark.

Rabbi Moshe Levine, Vice-President of the Conference of European Rabbis and Special Adviser to the Chief Rabbi of France, told the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of the second edition of the joint conference between Bahrain and the European Union on freedom of religion and belief. ) that he came to Bahrain for the first time in 2015.

He said that he attended the first and second sessions of the Bahrain-EU Conference and realized their importance.

The rabbi emphasized the topics that the conference focused on this year, namely cyberspace and climate change.

“The event highlights different religions and different origins. It brings about change. In the Kingdom of Bahrain, we see these special features that we are not able to see in all parts of Europe.

“In Europe, we don’t see the diversity that we see in Bahrain, something very special. That’s why I love coming and sharing this moment with others.”

The rabbi said he appreciated the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in showing commitment to peace.

“It is a long way to achieve and maintain peace, and I know the endless efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain and that is why I love to be part of this event and I am very happy to be here.”
