Foreign Minister holds meeting with Libyan counterpart

Manama, May 13 (BNA): Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani held today a meeting with Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mankoush.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the fraternal relations that bind the two countries, aspects of cooperation across all fields, and ways to enhance joint relations to serve common interests.

The two sides discussed developments in Libya and international efforts to maintain security, peace and stability there towards a political solution to the current crisis in a way that preserves Libya’s sovereignty and stability, stops any interference in its internal affairs and paves the way for Parliament. Elections as planned.

Dr. Al-Zayani and his counterpart also discussed political developments in the Arab region, efforts to strengthen Arab unity and push Arab action forward, in addition to other regional and international issues.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Head of the Department of Arab-African Affairs, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Turaifi.

On the Libyan side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Director of International Cooperation, Ashraf Muhammad, Chargé d’Affaires Khalifa Muhammad Abu Harara, and the accompanying delegation.
