Bahrain participates in international meeting on fighting obesity

Geneva, May 25 (BNA): A delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in an international symposium on the World Health Organization plan to combat obesity. The event was held on the sidelines of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly, which was held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

The event started with speeches by the participating countries, including the Kingdom of Bahrain, Seychelles, Portugal and the Philippines. More than 100 participants from all over the world participated in the event.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, welcomed the attendees and participants, stressing the importance of the topic of the event and the experiences that will be highlighted in accelerating the pace of stopping obesity. She drew attention to the great importance that the Kingdom of Bahrain attaches to this issue, in line with achieving development goals.
