Bahrain participates in COPUOS meetings

Manama, Apr. 15 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), participated in the preparatory sessions for the meetings of the group concerned with the status and application of the five United Nations treaties abroad. The Authority’s CEO, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Asiri, affirmed the agency’s commitment to representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in all events related to its fields of work, in line with the directives of His Majesty the King. He pointed out the importance of the Kingdom’s participation in the preparatory sessions in absorbing changes in the space sector, which could affect some articles of the National Space Law, which is subject to preliminary review. He added that the agency’s participation in high-level international discussions contributes to providing its representatives of young national competencies with more experience.

Regarding her participation, Sheikha Hessa Al Khalifa stressed that she affirms the Kingdom’s role in the space sector, adding that her participation confirms the Kingdom’s role as an active member in the activities of the committee.
