Bahrain participates in 4th session of Arab Council for Population and Development

Riyadh, Dec. 23 (BNA): Minister of Cabinet Affairs Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki affirmed Bahrain’s relentless efforts to invest in people as the best way to continue the development process in various fields, pointing out that after the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid-19) there are development efforts aimed at Achieving recovery through a wide range of strategic projects and initiatives, in accordance with the visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


The minister said that the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has adopted in its program a number of policies and strategies at the level of population and development based on demographic indicators, in a way that contributes to advancing development, while highlighting the importance of continuing to Exchanging experiences at the regional and international levels to adopt best practices in the field of population and development in a way that supports efforts towards achieving the expected goals.


Al-Maliki was speaking during his participation in the fourth session of the Arab Council for Population and Development held here under the chairmanship of the Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim.


The meeting discussed the priorities of Arab countries with regard to human and development issues. It also shed light on the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Arab countries, and the policies they adopted to confront it at the level of population policies and programmes.

It also included the second regional revision of the 2013 Cairo Declaration on Population and Development, which was implemented in partnership with the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Population Fund.
