Bahrain participates in 30th anniversary of Declaration on Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities

Manama, September 22 (BNA) Bahrain participated in a high-level meeting on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities.

The Bahraini delegation was headed by Ambassador Sheikha Aisha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa from the Kingdom’s Permanent Mission in New York.

In her speech, Sheikha Aisha expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation for the role of the United Nations in supporting all countries to achieve the goals of sustainable development. It commended its role in protecting and promoting human rights.

It highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in light of the comprehensive development approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the areas of religious freedom, tolerance and coexistence. She noted the Kingdom’s programs and initiatives in this regard.
