Bahrain participates in 22nd Conference of Ministers Responsible for Cultural Affairs in the Arab World

Dubai, December 19 (BNA) The Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the 22nd Conference of Ministers Responsible for Cultural Affairs in the Arab World, which was launched here today.

Sheikha Hala bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of Culture and Arts at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, participated in the two-day conference on behalf of the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.

UAE Minister of Culture and Youth, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Director General of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Dr. Mohamed Ould Ammar, Egyptian Minister of Culture and President of the 21st session of the conference. Enas Abdel Dayem.

Sheikha Hala also attended the opening of the Arabic Language Summit, which was organized by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, on the sidelines of the 22nd Conference of Arab Ministers of Culture.

On this occasion, Sheikha Hala expressed her thanks and appreciation to the UAE for hosting the conference, and its interest in Arab heritage and culture, stressing the importance of using culture to develop societies and promote sustainable development, in light of the ongoing exceptional circumstances that the world is going through. Due to the spread of the Corona virus pandemic.

She praised the recent inclusion of Arabic calligraphy and Bahrain’s Fajiri musical performance on UNESCO’s list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, calling for the intensification of joint Arab cultural work and cooperation to enhance Arab identity and culture.

She added that Expo 2022 Dubai is a golden opportunity to enhance the Arab cultural presence at the international level.
