BCCI Chairman calls for bolstering Bahraini-Omani economic cooperation

Manama, October 24 (BNA) President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Union of Arab Chambers, Samir Abdullah Nass, expressed his pride in the strong brotherly economic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman. The necessity of strengthening bilateral economic relations by enhancing cooperation between businessmen and companies in the two countries at the level of small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurship.

He indicated the two countries’ interest in developing their joint work in all fields, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.

The President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed the importance of enhancing Bahraini-Omani trade, economic and investment cooperation, noting that the volume of bilateral trade exchange amounted to more than 672 million dollars in 2021, of which imports are estimated at 193 million dollars, and exports are estimated. About 570 million US dollars.

Nass stressed that the private sector in the two countries seeks to create a strategic partnership that contributes to increasing the volume of bilateral trade by investing in distinguished opportunities in the Omani market with regard to food security, in cooperation with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The head of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry called for holding exhibitions and joint economic events to highlight the incentives offered to investors in the two countries, as well as to promote investment opportunities available to them and introduce products.

He also called for launching joint projects, especially in the fields of food industries, fish farming and mining.
