Bahrain national football team ready for the 2023 AFC Cup qualifies in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, June 2 (BNA) The Bahrain national football team has arrived in Malaysia to participate in the third round of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur on June 8 and 14.

Bahrain was drawn into Group E, which includes the host country Malaysia in addition to Bangladesh and Turkmenistan.

The national team plays Bangladesh on Wednesday (June 8) before facing Malaysia (June 11) and Turkmenistan (June 14) respectively.

Six teams that top their groups will qualify for the 2023 AFC Cup, along with the five best second-placed teams. 14 countries have already booked a place in the continental tournament.

Bahrain will host Thailand’s national football team tomorrow, Tuesday, in a friendly football match.

The national team is organizing a training camp until the end of this month ahead of the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers to be held in Malaysia.

Led by Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, the national team includes 24 players who are Abbas Ayyad, Jamal Rashid, Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Abdullah, Ahmed Bughamer, Mahdi Humaidan, Mohamed Adel, Omar Saber, Ammar Mirza, Syed Zia Saeed, Syed Shubar Alawi, Abdullah. Al-Hazzaa, Ali Haram, Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, Abdullah Yusuf, Ammar Muhammad, Ibrahim Al-Khatal, Mahdi Abdul-Jabbar, Mahdi Abdul-Latif, Abdul-Wahhab Al-Mawlid, Amin bin Uday, Rashid Al-Houti, Sayed Muhammad Jaafar, Walid Hayam.

Bahrain beat Myanmar 2-0 before beating Thailand 2-1 in two friendly matches in Bangkok as part of its training camp.
