Bahrain human rights strides stressed

Manama, January 6 (BNA) President of the National Institution for Human Rights Ali Ahmed Al-Dirazi received today the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament David McAllister.

He praised the growing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, stressing the importance of these visits in learning about developments in the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields.

Al-Darazi referred to the Kingdom’s steps in the field of human rights since the launch of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The two sides discussed issues of common concern and the role of the National Human Rights Institution in dealing with them to continue promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

For his part, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament praised the role of the National Human Rights Institution in protecting human rights in Bahrain, pointing to the European Union’s keenness to continue cooperation with the Kingdom on various regional and international issues.
