Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference kicks off

Manama, September 29 (BNA) Health Minister Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan stressed the importance of organizing and hosting medical conferences in the Kingdom of Bahrain and exchanging experiences with specialists from all over the world. She pointed to the role of these conferences in enriching medical knowledge and capabilities and providing a supportive environment for national competencies to find the best innovative solutions and enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the health system.


This came during the Minister’s speech during the opening today of the second edition of the Bahrain Health Regulatory Conference and Exhibition, which is organized by the National Health Regulatory Authority under the patronage of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.


The ceremony was attended by the CEO of the authority, Dr. Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma, and a number of officials in the authority The Ministry of Health, the health sector, the competent associations and representatives of the GCC countries. The conference also witnessed a large participation of specialists, companies and importers of medicines and medical equipment.


The Minister of Health stressed the importance of the conference in supporting the health and medical sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and improving services provided to citizens and residents. She pointed to her contribution to exchanging the best regional and international experiences in this sector by exploring the participants’ visions.


For her part, Dr. Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma said that the conference, which is organized under the slogan “Safe and High-Quality Health Services”, sheds light on many issues, including licensing health care facilities and activating Mihan facilities. Initiatives, regulation and control of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, granting and renewing accreditation for hospitals and medical centers, and setting regulations and legislation.

It is worth noting that the three-day conference aims to enhance communication between all health practitioners and those interested in providing health care, services, medical products, pharmaceuticals, health care institutions, patient safety, medical trainers, and accreditation. The conference serves as a platform for the exchange of views among all practitioners in the healthcare sector and medical services in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Gulf states regarding issues related to the health sector. The conference also includes round-table meetings with suppliers of medical devices and medicines to discuss the latest developments on procedures and regulations.
