Manama, November 3 (BNA) Dr. Hassan Al-Shafei, former member of the Al-Azhar Council of Senior Scholars and member of the Board of Directors of the Bahraini Dialogue Forum “East and West for Human Coexistence”, said that the Bahrain Scholars and Clerics Forum is an opportunity to meet. Muslim Council of Elders.
He commended the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting all religions to participate in the forum, which is being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he referred to the role that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif has played for more than 100 years in caring for Islamic heritage and keeping pace with the modern world.
He praised the Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, head of the Muslim Council of Elders, for his pivotal role in this regard.
Dr. Hassan Al-Shafei stressed the need to uphold the values of tolerance, coexistence, mutual respect for all religions and cultures, and acceptance of difference.
