Bahrain exports BD1.121 Billion worth of products of national origins during Q4 2022

Manama, Jan. 23 (BNA): The Information and e-Government Authority issued its report on foreign trade for the fourth quarter of 2022, which contains data on the trade balance, imports, exports (national origin) and re-exports.

The value of imports increased by 0.3% to reach 1.410 billion dinars during the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to 1.406 billion dinars for the same quarter of the previous year.

The top ten countries accounted for 69% of the value of imports, while the remaining countries accounted for 31%.

China ranked first with regard to imports with a total value of 183 million dinars, the UAE came in second place with 133 million dinars, and Brazil ranked third with 131 million dinars.

Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the best product imported to Bahrain with a total value of 153 million Bahraini dinars, while aluminum oxide came in second place with 97 million dinars, and gold ingots in third place with 47 million dinars.

The value of exports of national origin decreased by 6%, to reach 1.121 billion dinars during the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to 1.192 billion dinars for the same quarter of the previous year.

The top ten countries in terms of the value of exports of national origin accounted for 73% of the total value, while the remaining countries accounted for 27%.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among the countries that receive Bahraini exports of national origin, as it imported 261 million Bahraini dinars from Bahrain. The UAE came second with 126 million dinars, and the United States of America with 110 million dinars.

Unwrought aluminum ingots emerged as the largest exported products during the fourth quarter of 2022 with a value of 325 million dinars, agglomerated and concentrated iron ores came in second place with a value of 177 million dinars, and unwrought unalloyed aluminum ranked third with a value of 83 million dinars.

The total value of re-exports increased by 29% to reach BD 200 million during the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to BD 155 million for the same quarter of the previous year.

The top ten countries accounted for 88% of the re-export value, while the remaining countries accounted for 12%.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first with 45 million dinars, the UAE ranked second with 41 million dinars, and Singapore with 30 million dinars.

Aircraft spare parts came first with re-exports from Bahrain with a value of 44 million dinars, non-precious meta wristwatches came in second place with a value of 13 million dinars, and gold bars in third place with a value of 9 million dinars.

The trade balance, which considers the difference between exports and imports, recorded a deficit of 88 million dinars during the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to a deficit of 59 million dinars for the same quarter of the previous year, with a growth rate of 50%.
