Manama, June 28 (BNA): Bahrain has emerged as an ideal workplace for small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) thanks to the excellent infrastructure and support needed for SMEs to thrive.

Dr. Hassan Al-Diri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Association, told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the Small and Medium Enterprises Association is holding the conference on an annual basis without any interruption.

“Major interruptions such as the pandemic did not prevent the SME Association from hosting the conference according to schedule,” he said on the sidelines of the 10th annual United Nations Conference (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises 2022) which lasts for two days.

“Although the last two years were a bit different as we had virtual events and this year we have mixed events both in person, and over 17,000 members from different parts of the world are participating,” he said.

Participants will attend various sectors including the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum, the University President’s Forum, and the Women Entrepreneurs Forum.

The Ambassadors Forum will be another prominent event where the Malaysian, Korean and American envoys will address the audience while touching on particularly important topics.

Dr. Al-Dairi said that the event has achieved excellence so far, and that next year’s conference will be outside Bahrain, and the name of the country will come on the closing day.
