Geneva, September 22 (BNA): The Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Youssef Abdul Karim Bucheery, today delivered a joint statement on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco. As the University of Peace and more than 50 countries, on the role of women in peace and diplomacy, during the 48th session of the Human Rights Council.
The “Joint Statement on Women, Peace and Diplomacy” reaffirmed the essential role of women in peace processes and conflict prevention, and called on all states to strongly commit to ensuring the advancement of women in preventive diplomacy and peacebuilding.
Commenting on this achievement, Ambassador Yousef Abdul Karim Bucheery said: “This joint statement is in line with the distinguished Bahraini experience in empowering Bahraini women and enhancing their pioneering role in laying the foundations for international peace and security through its prominent and famous diplomatic presence in the country. international forums. Israel’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Merav Elon Shahar, said: “This joint statement is the first official initiative on the multilateral arena between Israel, Bahrain, the UAE and Morocco. I am particularly pleased that the important issue of women in peace processes is the focus of this statement and I believe it is testimony on the new dynamic that we want to foster in our region and beyond.”
