Bahrain, South Korea hold fourth round of policy consultations

Seoul, April 7 (BNA) The fourth round of political consultations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and South Korea was held today in Seoul.

The meeting was chaired by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Yoo Seung Bae.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary praised the strong and growing friendship between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations 46 years ago.

He praised the steady development of bilateral relations at various levels thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

The two sides reviewed prospects for joint cooperation in the fields of trade, investments, infrastructure, health, space sciences, environment and renewable energy, activating more than 18 agreements and memoranda of understanding for bilateral cooperation and exchanging experiences in the fields of human development and digital transformation.

They also discussed regional and international issues of common interest, in light of the Kingdom’s presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, and the two countries’ commitment to consolidating tolerance and dialogue and promoting security, peace and sustainable development.

For his part, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs praised the visit of the Bahraini Foreign Ministry delegation to his country, stressing the common interest in consolidating and developing distinguished bilateral relations in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples. He wished the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
