Information Minister receives BJA Board of Directors

Manama, September 22 (BNA) Minister of Information Ali bin Muhammad Al-Rumaihi praised the responsible media freedom that characterizes the democratic process and respect for human rights in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

This came during a speech by the Minister of Information during his meeting today with the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Journalists Association headed by Issa Al-Shayji. He stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Information to strengthen the partnership with the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate in protecting the rights of journalists and allowing them to perform their work professionally and objectively.

The Minister of Information renewed his congratulations to the Board of Directors on their uncontested election to the membership of the Board of Directors, praising their national role in upgrading the press and media sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

For his part, Al-Shayji expressed his thanks and respect to the Minister of Information for his support, stressing the keenness of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate to cooperate with press and media institutions to protect the rights of journalists and deepen their commitment to professional and ethical standards. He also expressed his keenness to communicate with Arab and international press organizations to exchange experiences and support the Kingdom’s name in regional and international media gatherings.
