Bahrain-Canada 2nd round of political consultations held in Ottawa

Ottawa, September 17 (BNA): The second round of political consultations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Canada was held in Ottawa. Chaired by Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Deputy Assistant Minister for Europe, the Arctic, the Middle East and Maghreb in the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development. Sandra McCardell.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to continue developing cooperation with Canada in various fields and exchanging experiences to achieve the vital interests of the two countries and peoples.

The two sides discussed regional and international issues of common interest, prospects for bilateral cooperation, strengthening international partnership in ensuring maritime security, combating extremism and terrorism, and consolidating security, stability and peace in the Middle East and the world.

For her part, the Canadian official welcomed the Bahraini delegation’s visit to Ottawa, noting her appreciation for Bahrain’s commitment to tolerance and peaceful coexistence in the Middle East through various initiatives.

She also affirmed her country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral partnership for the benefit of both countries and their development.
