Political Affairs Undersecretary meets Canadian Parliamentary Secretary to Foreign Minister

Ottawa, September 17 (BNA) Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met Parliamentary Secretary of Canadian Foreign Minister Robert Oliphant on the sidelines of the meeting. The second round of political consultations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary affirmed Bahrain’s goal to enhance bilateral cooperation with Canada, in line with its commitment to peace and coexistence, and to coordinate regional and international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism and dry up their sources of funding. On the economic front, the discussions included developing economic, investment and scientific cooperation in line with the Economic Vision 2030.

He noted the importance of exchanging parliamentary and legislative experiences and achieving sustainable development.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed his country’s interest in strengthening the partnership to achieve the vital common interests of the two countries, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
