Bahrain and Maldives foreign ministers sign agreements

Manama, October 6 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and his Maldivian counterpart Dr. Abdullah Shahid signed at Gudaibiya Square today a number of memoranda of understanding.

This came within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Salih and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The two foreign ministers signed a memorandum of understanding on political consultations to enhance friendly relations, cooperation and coordination between the two countries on issues related to bilateral relations and international issues of common interest.

And they signed a memorandum of understanding on diplomatic training and information exchange between the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies in Bahrain and the Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Maldives.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, also handed his Maldivian counterpart a certificate granting the Republic of the Maldives the right of sovereignty over the information of its subscribers in the cloud computing centers located in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani praised the signing of the memoranda of understanding, noting that it will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries.
