Bahrain condemns Houthis’ refusal to extend truce in Yemen

Manama, October 6 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist group’s refusal to extend the truce in the Republic of Yemen proposed by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen Hans. Grundberg and approved by the Yemeni government.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its continuous support to bring peace and stability to the Republic of Yemen.

He stressed that the Houthi terrorist group’s refusal to extend the armistice and obstructing the efforts of the UN Special Envoy reflects its intentions to continue its military operations inside and outside Yemen to achieve its illegal goals and threaten the security and stability of the region.

He also called on the United Nations to continue its efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis, in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the results of the National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution No. 2216, in line with achieving peace, security and stability for the Yemeni people.
