BACA President receives Japanese ambassador

Manama, February 24 (BNA) The President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received in her office today the Japanese ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Miyamoto Masayuki, accompanied by Dr. Akinori Osugi, a specialist in ancient civilizations and excavation at Kanazawa University, Japan.

They discussed ways to enhance cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries and the results of the excavations carried out by the Japanese delegation in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, which began in 2015 in Wadi Al-Sail to survey and excavate the sites of Dalmum in the Kingdom. .

The two sides stressed the importance of training Bahraini cadres on excavation work, noting the importance of cooperation with the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage (ARC-WH) based in Manama.
