BACA President meets French Culture Minister

Paris, February 2 (BNA) The President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, met the French Minister of Culture, Roslyn Bachelot-Narquin, at the headquarters of the French Ministry of Culture on Thursday. On the sidelines of her participation in the second donor conference of the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIF), which was held at the Louvre Museum.


Sheikha Mai stressed the depth of the Bahraini-French cultural relations, noting that the cooperation between the two countries contributed to the promotion of cultural work at the regional and global levels, which resulted in many programs over the past years.


She expressed her thanks to the French Minister of Culture for her constant interest in consolidating cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries, expressing her hope for the continuation of joint work in order to enhance the status of culture.


The two sides discussed a number of topics of common interest, on top of which is the agreement signed between BACA and the Louvre Museum, according to which artifacts from the Dilmun and Tellus civilizations will be displayed in the Museum’s Oriental Archeology Department.
