BACA President attends WCCE inauguration

Dubai, Dec. 7 (BNA): The World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) opened today at the Dubai Exhibition Center as part of Expo 2020 Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, attended the opening ceremony.

The meeting was attended by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, UAE Minister of Culture and Youth Noura Al Kaabi and Ministers of Culture and Tourism from other countries in the world.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the United Arab Emirates will host Expo 2020 Dubai from 7-9 December at the Dubai Exhibition Center under the theme “Inclusive Creativity: Refining the Future”.

(BACA) President Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa gave a lecture highlighting the famous Pearl Passage, which appears on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. The lecture also focused on the city of Muharraq, which was included in the UNESCO list of creative cities.

She stressed the importance of the conference, which discusses ways to develop the creative economy as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.

The conference highlights the challenges facing the creative economy, especially the novel coronavirus (Covid-19). The global event aims to enhance international cooperation and joint action in order to formulate policies for this economy that contribute to achieving sustainable development.
