Auger-Aliassime beats Alcaraz in Swiss Indoors semifinals

Basel, Oct. 29 (BUS): Felix Auger-Aliassime cemented his perfect career record against first-placed Carlos Alcaraz to win 6-3 6-2 in the semi-finals at home in Switzerland on Saturday.

The ninth-seeded Canadian improved to 3-0 against the US Open champion and took his overall winning streak to 12 games in October, according to the Associated Press.

Alcaraz created the first break opportunity that Auger-Aliassime faced all week in Basel, but was unable to capitalize on it in the final.

Serving winner Auger-Aliassime will be seeking his third consecutive title in Sunday’s final against 19-year-old Holger Ron.

Ron, seeded No. 25 although not seeded in Basel, advanced to the final after defeating sixth seed Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6 (1), 7-6 (6).
