At least 16 killed in car crash in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula

Cairo, Jan. 8 (BNA) A traffic accident that took place today, Saturday, between a minibus and a larger bus, killed at least 16 people and injured 18 others in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula.

The Ministry of Health stated in a statement that the accident occurred when a microbus collided with a public transport bus on a road linking the city of Tour to South Sinai with the city of Suez.

Police said the collision occurred 10 kilometers (about 6 miles) from Tours.

The Health Ministry said it deployed at least 13 ambulances to the scene and that the wounded were taken to hospitals in South Sinai.
