At FANA meeting, BNA calls for greater use of modern communication technologies, applications and platforms

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 17 (BNA): Director General of the Bahrain News Agency, Abdullah Khalil Buhiji, participated in the 49th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), in conjunction with the Global Media Conference (GMC). ) release edition.

The conference was attended by the Agency’s Secretary-General, Farid Ayyar, representatives of 14 news agencies, observers and guests to discuss relevant topics and issues in the media sector.


The conference included two parts – a symposium with representatives of European news agencies and discussions within the agency on 23 topics on the agenda of the FANA General Assembly, including the approval of the training plan until 2025, and approval of the recommendations of the Financial Resources Insurance Committee in order to develop the work of the Federation and cooperation with agencies. European news and the League of Arab States.


Buhejji stressed the importance of communication between news agencies to enable them to achieve more exchange of news, reports and images that are produced professionally according to the latest technological developments.


He also pointed out the importance of making greater efforts in all media fields, especially news, to be able to face challenges through joint work and coordination to deliver the correct messages to media institutions using modern communication technologies, applications and platforms.


He said that it helps in strengthening the Arab media and enabling it to cover events with high levels of professionalism and credibility.


Muhammad Jalal Al-Raisi, Director General of the Agency and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Global Media Conference, said that the rapid developments around the world in general, and the media industry sector in particular, require Arab media to continue thinking and planning, and work together in facing challenges and exploring important issues in the field. The symposium brought together FANA participants and representatives of European news agencies – Russia’s TASS, German dpa, Bulgarian BTA, British Press Association PA and European News Agencies Alliance (EANA) to review ways to strengthen relations.

The discussion reviewed initiatives and plans and explored the possibility of developing a framework for the two sides to hold annual or biennial meetings to develop relations.
