Charterhouse is working with a leading multinational manufacturer of industrial refrigeration, which is looking to appoint an area manager to oversee performance and increase profitability across the North African region. To be considered for this role, you must have experience in industrial refrigeration, in a role focused on business development/sales.

This role is responsible for creating new territories and driving business development activity to increase the company’s profitability in the North African region. As an area manager, you will manage the profit and loss for your assigned area, create annual business plans that provide KPIs and enhance the company’s competitive offerings in each assigned area. A large part of this role is to conduct extensive market research, track upcoming projects and identify potential clients to target and build relationships with them. You will work alongside the sales and marketing department to plan and organize campaigns that help boost brand awareness and lead to increased sales conversion.

As the organization’s representative and key liaison with clients, the area manager must be able to demonstrate solid knowledge of industrial cooling solutions and act as a technical advisor to clients and end users. In addition, this role will oversee and manage the proposal process, create business presentations to provide services to potential clients and all contract negotiations. Due to geographical coverage, our clients can only consider fluent French and English speakers, Arabic is not a necessary but a major advantage.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical with at least 7 years of professional experience in the industrial refrigeration field/industry. Excellent negotiation and communication skills are required for this role with a proven track record of developing new business across several markets preferably North Africa/Middle East. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, customer focused with excellent analytical and business planning skills.

Please note that this role requires a significant amount of travel across the Middle East/North Africa regions, so candidates must be very flexible to meet the business needs and requirements of the regional project.
