Manama, September 29 (BNA) The Director of Bahrain Radio Younis Salman revealed that Bahrain Radio for Heritage Music (Radio Heritage) recorded 28 Bahraini folk songs, in cooperation with the Youth Band, led by Mishaal Al-Burshid.

He pointed out that this step comes within the framework of Bahrain Radio’s role in preserving and promoting Bahraini folk music locally and abroad, in line with the Traditional Radio Action Plan 2021.

He stressed that based on the government’s societal development goals, the traditional radio seeks to educate the Bahraini society in general, and the new generations in particular, of the kingdom’s rich heritage, by broadcasting popular songs and producing programs on Bahraini folklore. singers.

He added that Bahrain Radio aims to consolidate Bahrainis’ sense of belonging to the homeland and pride in their history, as well as introducing Arab expatriates to the local culture to facilitate their integration into Bahraini society.

The head of the Bahrain Heritage Radio, Abdullah Jamal, stressed the importance of preserving the kingdom’s heritage and authentic traditions and passing them on to new generations, in a manner that preserves the lofty values ​​established by ancestors and protects society.

He pointed out that the traditional radio seeks to be a national audio archive for oral and audio history, regardless of the time of recording or documentation, noting that radio considers all kinds of folk arts, poetry, stories, poems and proverbs as part of the Kingdom’s oral history.

He added that the 28 songs consist of different types of traditional musical genres and songs, such as Sawt, Basta, Khamari, Ashouri and Samri, noting that the traditional radio plans to record the songs of Al-Fujairi and Al-Ardah.
