Ye’s Yeezy pays nearly $1M to settle slow-shipping lawsuit

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (US): Rapper and fashion mogul Yeezy’s high-end clothing company has agreed to pay $950,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by four California attorneys over slow shipping to customers.

The lawsuit, filed last month by attorneys for Los Angeles, Sonoma, Napa and Alameda counties, alleges that Yeezy engaged in false advertisements about shipping and violated state law by not submitting online orders within 30 days.

Last month, a judge granted a request from the artist formerly known as Kanye West to legally change his name to Ye, according to the Associated Press (AP).

He designs and sells sports shoes under the Yeezy brand in collaboration with Adidas. The company also manufactures and sells clothing. Adidas is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.

The email sent for comment from Yeezy was not immediately returned.

The settlement includes $800,000 in civil fines to prosecutors’ offices, $50,000 in compensation to the state’s Consumer Protection Fund, and $100,000 in investigation costs.
