Works Ministry completes paving roads in Al Aker

Manama, November 7 (BNA) Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works for Roads Kazem Abdul Latif said that the ministry has completed paving dirt roads in Block 624 in Aker.

It is part of the first and second phases of the government’s program aimed at improving the infrastructure in the Kingdom, reducing traffic congestion and increasing traffic safety levels.

Abdullatif explained that the project includes paving 5.9 km of roads, implementing a rainwater drainage network, installing a new lighting network, implementing ground channels for current and future use, and providing the necessary traffic safety requirements, in coordination with the service. In order to protect the existing services (electricity, water and communications networks).

The project was awarded with a value of BD 674,400 to Eastern Asphalt & Mixed Concrete Co WLL.

The ministry has recently completed the construction of sewage networks in several areas in Aker, and has currently completed linking the sewage network to real estate units located on Road No. 2447 in Block 624 in the same area.
