Women’s empowerment crucial for better future

Manama, Mar. 15 (BNA): Head of the Turkish Parliamentary Union Group, Rafza Kavakji Kan, praised the work and performance of Bahraini women in parliament.


She affirmed that Bahraini women have made great progress in various fields and sectors, in light of the support, care and attention they have received.


The deputy of the Justice and Development Party in Istanbul said that she attended a session in which women were discussed, during which the participants learned about the extent of progress made by women in Bahrain and the support they receive.


She added that it was a catalyst for the rest of the world to see the great progress achieved by Bahrain in the participation of women in political life and the decision-making process.


Ravza Kavacci Kan said that the progress of women, who make up half of the world’s population, is not only linked to women, but also to the support of men.


She said support from both men and women is crucial if people want a better future for the world and generations to come.


The Turkish MP referred to Turkey’s experience in supporting women and said that it is similar to that in Bahrain.


She said that women are able to achieve the set development goals, and when all women unite, there is nothing to prevent them from achieving success.


She indicated that there are committees in the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly that deal with women parliamentarians.

Ravza Kavacci Kan, who holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Howard University in Washington, D.C. (2013), emphasized the importance of the topics discussed in the IPU meetings, including cyberattacks.
