Leicester Sept. 4 (BUS): Leicester plunged into further turmoil in the Premier League after losing 5-2 to Brighton on Sunday to remain bottomless and unwinnable after six matches.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers was already under pressure ahead of his team’s fifth league loss this season, with his defense particularly weak at the AMEX Stadium, according to the Associated Press.
The visitors failed to take advantage of their lead in the first minute through Kelechi Iheanacho with an own goal from Luke Thomas and Moises Caicedo and put Brighton ahead after 15 minutes.
Batson Dhaka equalized in the 33rd minute but Brighton dominated the second half thanks to Leandro Trossard and two Alexis McAllister goals – one penalty kick and one free kick in stoppage time – which added to Leicester’s suffering.
Leicester have only one point and there seems to be unhappiness behind the scenes, with Rodgers complaining during the week that he “hasn’t got the help in the (transfer) market that this team needs”.
Leicester, who have conceded 16 goals in six games, have had their midfielder – Wilfried Ndidi – at the center of defense in recent games while goalkeeper Danny Ward has been foul-prone and a massive reduction from departing Kasper Schmeichel.
