Warsaw, June 29 (BNA): Bahrain participates in the 11th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) in Poland.


The course is held under the auspices of the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) from 26-30 June.

Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, who attended the forum, affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting and implementing the new urban agenda, stressing its progress towards sustainable development goals and the new urban agenda.


Al Mubarak conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his wishes that the forum would achieve urban and sustainable development goals.


“We are working to diversify our economy in the Kingdom and accelerate the growth of the non-oil sectors,” the minister said in his speech.


He reviewed Bahrain’s efforts to sustain water and environmental resources, and to develop integrated transport policies through the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency and the National Action Plan for Renewable Energy.
