Vlahović undergoing medical with Juventus for transfer

Turin Jan. 28 (BUS): Prominent striker Dusan Vlahovic was undergoing a medical at Juventus on Friday to complete what is expected to be one of the biggest moves of the transfer window.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that Juventus tweeted a video of Vlahovic signing autographs and posing for photos with fans before entering the Juventus medical facility.

Juventus will reportedly pay Fiorentina a transfer fee of 67 million euros ($75 million) to Vlahovic, in addition to another 8 million euros ($9 million) in bonuses.

The 21-year-old has scored 20 goals in 24 matches in all competitions for Fiorentina this season and is the top scorer in Serie A, along with Lazio player Ciro Immobile.

In fifth place, Juventus have struggled to replace Cristiano Ronaldo since his off-season move to Manchester United and have scored just 34 goals this season – less than any of the top 10 teams in Serie A, with the exception of Torino.

Serbia international Valhović could be the perfect player to change that, having just equaled Ronaldo’s feat by scoring 33 league goals in a calendar year.

Juventus also without injured winger Federico Chiesa.

“Dusan Vlahovic continues to amaze. Serie A CEO Luigi de Cervo said after Vlahovic was named League Player of the Month for December.

“Physical strength, technique, spirit of sacrifice and a great sense of purpose make him one of the most complete strikers.”
