Verstappen could clinch F1 title but Hamilton not giving up challenge

Jeddah, Dec. 2 (BUS): The next round of epic Formula 1 title fights will take place in Saudi Arabia this weekend – all or nothing can be settled.

One of the toughest World Championship battles in Formula 1 history will conclude on Sunday at the Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia or take place in another final round in Abu Dhabi a week later.

Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton? Red Bull or Mercedes? Everything can be played with Red Bull’s Verstappen who has eight points but Hamilton and Mercedes are on top after dominant victories in the last two races.

Verstappen’s win in Mexico, after a surprising success at the US Grand Prix where Hamilton was expected to be strong, the title seemed a matter of time.

Mercedes risked it all in Brazil by giving Hamilton a new engine, and the grid penalties that go with it, but won by a distance. And in Qatar last time they were also unmatched.

Hamilton realistically needs to win the next Grand Prix to beat Michael Schumacher with seven world titles with his eighth.

One victory would give Verstappen his first world title and that could be achieved and eliminated if he manages to swing 18 points to Hamilton in Jeddah – an improbable if not impossible.

The constructors’ title is also in the balance with Mercedes, which has won every title in the hybrid era since 2014, just five points clear of Red Bull.

This means Valtteri Bottas will be called upon to make one last major effort before leaving Mercedes at the end of the season, as will Red Bull number two Sergio Perez.
