UoB President highlights university’s digital transformation

Manama, Jan. 3 (BNA): The University of Bahrain organized today a two-day remote workshop via video conference under the slogan “Transforming Higher Education with Microsoft”.


The symposium was moderated by Assistant Professor, Department of Information Systems, College of Information Technology, Dr. Amal Muhammad Al-Rayes, in the presence of representatives of Microsoft, in addition to a number of deans, heads of departments and faculty members. .


In a speech delivered at the workshop, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahki, President of the University of Bahrain, said that the National University has made great strides in meeting the requirements of digital transformation.


She indicated that the workshop is in line with the University of Bahrain’s mission to become a global university as an educational, research and entrepreneurial institution, while aligning its objectives with the government’s action plan for the Economic Vision 2030.


She emphasized the university’s keenness on continuous cooperation with partners, and stressed the importance of benefiting from Microsoft’s capabilities, which contribute to generating ideas and developing innovative educational paths.


Microsoft’s Regional Director Oman, Bahrain and Sheikh Saif Hilal Al-Hasani emphasized the need for quality and technology to deliver effective solutions to students.


He stressed the importance of aligning the strategies of the university and the company to work on building and implementing a digital transformation plan in the coming years.
