Manama, September 19 (BNA) The Executive Committee for Elections launched their efforts with the University of Bahrain today (UoB) to launch a platform to urge students to check voter lists and ensure that their names are included.


The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al-Mudhahiki, said that the university has harnessed all its capabilities to make the electoral process a success.


In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), she stressed the importance of the elections, which represent a milestone in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


The university was one of the main places to vote on the National Action Charter, which heralded the modern political life of Bahrain. It was also a polling center for previous parliamentary and municipal elections.


She pointed out that “the university accommodates about 36,000 students, most of whom are eligible to participate in the ballot,” stressing the importance of enhancing their awareness of choosing their parliamentary and municipal representatives.


Member of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Authority, Chairman of the Electoral Media Committee, Ahmed Al-Madhab, confirmed the keenness of the local organizing committee to urge students to verify their data, indicating the possibility of doing so via the website. www.vote.bh and supervisory centres.


The aim of the platform is to urge young people to verify participation in voting for the upcoming November elections and to exercise their constitutional right to choose their representatives.


It is noteworthy that the Executive Committee for Elections announced that the lists of voters in the four supervisory committees will be displayed for a week from 15 to 21 September.
