Transportation Minister, Works Minister inspect main building project in Muharraq

Manama, November 1 (BNA) The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, and the Minister of Works, Ibrahim bin Hassan Al-Hawaj, inspected the main building project of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Muharraq.

The Minister of Transport praised the distinguished architectural design of the building, which reflects the nature of the ministry’s work, as it includes most of the ministry’s various departments and specializations.

The design will contribute to raising the level of productivity and efficiency of employees, enhancing channels of communication, coordination and work flow, in addition to making it easier to work in accomplishing the tasks assigned to the Ministry and the services provided to auditors.

The minister explained that the project will contribute to reducing expenses and operating costs of facilities and achieving optimal use of government resources in a sustainable manner that reflects the development and civilized and urban progress that the Kingdom has reached.

The Minister of Works said that the implementation of the project comes within the framework of the continuous interest in the various service projects managed by the Ministry of Works.

He added that the construction and architectural finishes of the building and the operational tests of the electromechanical systems have been successfully completed.

The building obtained the final approval from the competent authorities to allow occupancy and use before handing over to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The project was managed by the Ministry of Works and the design and implementation of Dar Al Khaleej Engineering Office, while the contracting works were awarded by the Bahrain Tender Board to Al Jameel Construction.

The project is located on a land area of ​​about 15,611 square meters, while the construction area is about 19,275 square meters. It has 219 parking spaces.
