Trafco supports second phase of greening Al Ghous Corniche

Manama, Jan. 22 (BNA): The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) announced that it has received support from the Travco Group for the Forever Green campaign.

Support by planting 80 shrubs on an area of ​​120 square meters by the Bahrain Cleaning Company next to Al-Ghous Corniche in Muharraq is within the second phase of the project.

Travcos contribution enhances the role of the private sector in advancing Bahrain’s environmental goals, national priorities, promoting environmental awareness among people and civil society and expanding green spaces in Bahrain.

Within the framework of this initiative, all components of society work together to achieve the aspirations of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and Chair of the Nayed Advisory Council to promote agriculture and promote social responsibility to achieve sustainable development in the Kingdom.

The seedlings and shrubs were planted by the Bahrain Cleaning Organization in the presence of officers from Muharraq Municipality and NIAD to ensure a correct cultivation method that preserves the soil and helps achieve civic awareness through practical and scientific training.

Sheikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of Al Nayed, thanked Travco Group for its generous support and contribution to the Forever Green campaign.

She added that she is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Travco and other private sector companies and institutions.

Neem bushes 60 and 20 rolls will later form a natural windbreak and shading plant.

NIAD’s ambitious Forever Green campaign has received generous support from the private sector, evidence of the strong partnership between all components of Bahraini society.

The campaign is being implemented under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka.
