Tottenham’s Champions League bid hit by 1-0 loss to Brighton

London, April 16 (BNA) Leandro Trossard’s 90th minute goal gave Brighton a 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Saturday, stopping the North London team’s rise and pushing it to qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham have won five of their last six games to move to fourth place in the Premier League, helping Brighton beat Arsenal last weekend, according to the Associated Press.

Mid-table Brighton had another impact on the top-four competitions when Trussard beat defender Eric Dier and used his outside right foot to shove the ball past goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the far corner.

“I don’t think we were right from the start,” Dyer told BT Sport. “We were a little slow moving the ball. We struggled to create chances and conceded a poor goal at the end. Today was definitely a slip.”

Tottenham won four games in a row, but on Saturday they did not hit the target.
